We are a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing and revitalizing the El Rio community. Our efforts focus on neighborhood cleanups, graffiti removal, installing murals, planting California native plants in public spaces, and organizing special events to celebrate our vibrant community.

Is El Rio in Oxnard or Ventura County? Good question!
El Rio is an unincorporated town in Ventura County, meaning it is not governed by a municipal government like a city. Instead, it falls under the jurisdiction of the Ventura County government for public services, zoning, and law enforcement, among other responsibilities. Unlike incorporated cities, El Rio doesn't have its own city council or mayor. Instead, it relies on county-level officials and services.
The County of Ventura has established a Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) for the community of El Rio. Meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at the Roger Jones Community Center 2864 Jourdan Street in El Rio or, alternatively at the Nyeland Acres Community Center, located at 3334 Santa Clara Avenue in Nyeland Acres. Click here to see the schedule, agenda and minutes for El Rio MAC meetings.
El Rio residents are encouraged to attend these forums to stay informed about community issues, voice concerns, and connect with county officials and leaders. These meetings address neighborhood needs, provide project updates, and respond to feedback, fostering unity and ensuring El Rio's priorities are heard in county planning.
